Blanket, Quilt & Comforter Cleaning

Blankets and quilts are too large for most home washing machines, and they need to dry completely to stay fresh. Our blanket cleaning service handles bulky bedding properly, so it comes back clean, dry and ready to use or store for the season.

About This Service

We check each item for its fabric, filling and construction before choosing a cleaning method. Woollen blankets, synthetic fleece and filled comforters each need different handling.

Thorough drying is one of the most important stages for filled bedding, to prevent damp and odour inside the filling.

What We Clean

  • Woollen and acrylic blankets
  • Fleece and mink blankets
  • Quilts and razais
  • Comforters and duvets
  • Bedspreads and throws
  • Mattress protectors (subject to label)

Before You Book: Care Considerations

  • Tell us the type of filling if you know it, such as cotton, polyester fibre, feather or down.
  • Hand-stitched and traditional quilts can be delicate; let us know if an item has sentimental or heritage value.
  • Clean blankets before storing them for the summer. Stains and body oils left in fabric attract moths and can set over time.

Our Process

  1. Inspection

Fabric, filling and stitching are checked.

  2. Cleaning

Each item is cleaned using a method suited to its materials.

  3. Thorough drying

Items are dried fully to protect the filling.

  4. Folding & packing

Bedding is folded and packed, ready for use or storage.

Please note

Filling that has already clumped, flattened or deteriorated may not recover fully. Some cotton-filled traditional quilts may not be suitable for full immersion cleaning. We will advise you if an item needs a different approach.

FAQs

Blanket Cleaning Questions

Can woollen blankets be cleaned without shrinking?

Woollen blankets need careful handling to avoid shrinkage and felting. We choose a method based on the fibre and the care label.

How often should blankets and comforters be cleaned?

Most people clean heavy bedding at least once a season, and before storing it for long periods.

Can you clean cotton-filled razais?

Some can be cleaned with care, but cotton filling can clump when wet. We inspect each item and recommend the safest option.
