Curtain Cleaning Service

Curtains quietly collect dust, smoke, cooking odours and allergens every day. Because they hang in sunlight and are rarely taken down, they often need more care than people expect when they are finally cleaned. Our curtain cleaning service refreshes your curtains while respecting their fabric and lining.

About This Service

We check the fabric type, lining, any blackout or thermal coating and the overall condition of the curtains, including areas that may have been weakened by sunlight. Then we choose between wet and dry cleaning methods to suit the fabric.

After cleaning, curtains are finished and folded carefully, ready to be hung again.

What We Clean

  • Sheer and net curtains
  • Cotton and linen curtains
  • Velvet and heavy drapes
  • Lined curtains
  • Blackout curtains (subject to inspection)
  • Cushion covers and table linen

Before You Book: Care Considerations

  • Remove hooks, rings and weights before handing curtains over, or tell us if they are still attached.
  • Fabric that has been in strong sunlight for years can become fragile and may tear during any cleaning.
  • Some blackout and thermal backings can crack or peel when cleaned. We inspect them first and advise you.
  • Measure curtains before cleaning if exact length matters to you; some fabrics can change slightly in size.

Our Process

  1. Inspection

Fabric, lining, coatings and sun damage are checked.

  2. Dust removal

Loose dust is removed before cleaning.

  3. Cleaning

Curtains are wet or dry cleaned depending on the fabric.

  4. Finishing & folding

Curtains are pressed where suitable and folded for re-hanging.

Please note

Sun fading and fabric weakened by sunlight cannot be reversed, and some shrinkage can occur with certain fabrics. Coated blackout linings may not be suitable for every cleaning method. We will discuss any concerns with you first.

FAQs

Curtain Cleaning Questions

How often should curtains be cleaned?

Many households clean curtains once or twice a year. Kitchens, homes with smokers or pets, and homes near busy roads may benefit from more frequent cleaning.

Can blackout curtains be cleaned?

Often, yes, but coated linings can be delicate. We inspect the backing first and recommend the most suitable method.

Do I need to remove the hooks?

It helps. Removing hooks, rings and weights protects both the curtains and the cleaning equipment.
